THE SOMER STORY

Inspired by a Dream.

Somerbella started with a dream: “canned mimosas.” Serena had the vision; her husband Jaco brought the winemaking expertise. Together, they set out to create a new standard for wine cocktails: fresh, clean, beautifully crafted, and effortless to enjoy.

What Makes Us Different

We don’t cut corners. Every Somerbella cocktail is crafted in small batches made from premium sparkling wine crafted for the cocktails with real organic fruit juices, and fresh herbs and spices (never from concentrate) and with no artificial flavors or sweeteners. The cordials used in our spritzes are made in a kitchen, not a lab, and everything is produced in a winery by a dedicated winemaker using sustainable, hands-on methods at every step.

We’re here to create something fresh, delicious, and truly worth sipping.

Sustainably Crafted, Consciously Delivered

We make every effort to keep Somerbella as green as possible. From compostable eco-rings and biodegradable shipping materials to electric-vehicle deliveries and low-impact winemaking, sustainability is built into every step of our process.

We’re here to make cocktails better — for your moment, and for the planet

FOUNDERS

Serena

CO-FOUNDER | SALES | MARKETING

Serena brings a background in fashion and product development to everything she creates. Passionate about design, clean ingredients, and mindful living, she approaches every product thoughtfully, crafting experiences meant to be savored.

Jaco and I love a good picnic, especially when traveling through Europe. There’s something magical about picking up a fresh baguette, local cheese, olives, a little dessert, and often a bottle of local wine, then finding the perfect spot with a beautiful view. Sitting together, sharing simple food, breathing in the fresh air, and being fully present with one another has given us some of the happiest moments of our lives.

Jaco

CO-FOUNDER | WINEMAKER | OPERATIONS

South African–born and raised, Jaco is a multiple award-winning winemaker with a passion for storytelling, on-air hosting, and creating. He earned his degree in Oenology and Viticulture from Stellenbosch University, nestled in the heart of South Africa's renowned wine country near Cape Town.

After he traveled the world, making wine, and working on ski resorts for extra cash. It was then that Jaco met Serena working a wine harvest season in rural Northern California, in a small town called Fiddletown (population at the time: 95 at the time).

Serena passing through working on the set of western short film as a costume designer, was diagnosed with cancer a month before.

Soon, after learning Serena was about to start her journey through chemotherapy , they connected and the connection was immediate.

Today Jaco has loves creating, researching and developing new cocktails and mocktails, traveling to Europe, a deep love for his always home country of South Africa, visiting often and always keen to watch or play a a game of rugby. Mostly you would find him playing dolls with his two young daughters.

SOMERBELLA moment?
